Nokia Storyteller
It organizes your photos and videos into stories by identifying if they are taken in the same event. These stories can be browsed as a book, watched as videos, and shared with friends.

Background
Imaging experience was one of the Nokia key investments. In order to bridge the best capture and relive the experience, we designed the Nokia storyteller app for browsing user'’ photos and videos on phone and tablet.

Process
Our research identifies six themes of potential opportunities. "Relive the moment" and "Manage photos naturally" are the focus areas decided in the stakeholder's meetings. Here are a few critical user problems within the themes:
1. Most people are lazy to organize their photos on their devices.
2. People took multiple photos simultaneously to get a perfect shot so that the camera roll was filled with duplicated photos.
3. People want to share their highlighted memories with friends, but they need to scroll through the entire gallery to find the right ones. The browsing experience is not ideal.
As a result, we worked with engineers to design algorithms that automatically organize the photos into a story if they belong to the same event. In addition, the team created the duplicated photodetection by analyzing the period and pixel mapping to help people keep the best one. Last but not least, we designed the story video feature, which automatically creates a video from your photos and videos in the same event.
